A 3-Day Udaipur Itinerary for Couples Who Want to Slow Down
Most Udaipur itineraries are written for people trying to see everything.
This one is written for couples who want to see the right things, slowly – and return to somewhere genuinely restorative at the end of each day.
The base for this itinerary is Raht Manmatha, a private four-suite fort estate near Badi Lake, approximately 30 minutes from the city centre.
Day 1 – Arrive, Settle, Do Nothing
Morning
Fly into Maharana Pratap Airport.
The drive to Raht Manmatha takes approximately 45 minutes – through the outskirts of Udaipur and out toward Badi Lake, where the landscape opens and the hills take over.
Check in.
The estate team will have your room ready, a welcome drink prepared, and absolutely nothing scheduled unless you have asked for something.
Afternoon
Spend the first afternoon on the property.
Each suite has a private plunge pool.
The estate is set in the Bahubali Hills – there is a short climb to a viewpoint that is among the most dramatic sunset spots near Udaipur.
Evening
The first dinner at Raht Manmatha is usually the one guests talk about most.

Day 3 – The Slower Parts of Udaipur
Morning
Saheliyon Ki Bari
The Garden of the Maidens is an 18th-century garden complex that most visitors spend 20 minutes in.
Spend an hour.
It is one of the most serene spaces in Udaipur.
Mid-Morning
Shilpgram
The rural arts and crafts village 3km west of Fateh Sagar Lake has workshops from artisans across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Goa.
Worth an hour for anyone interested in traditional craft.
Final Evening
The Raht Long Table, if you have others staying at the estate.
Or a final private dinner on the terrace.
Practical Notes
- Getting around: Hire a driver for the day rather than relying on apps. A full-day driver costs Rs. 1,500-2,000.
- Best season: October to March.
- December and January evenings require a light layer.
